The Power of Personal History for Qualified and Student Therapists, Counsellors and Coaches

The therapeutic benefits gained from assisting a client to develop a coherent personal narrative cannot be underestimated. Most clients will never have had the opportunity of telling their own story in a safe, non-judgemental space. The story not only helps the therapist to understand their client at a deeper level, it helps the client to begin the process of self-acceptance, which is a vital aspect of any therapy.
On this one day course, you will learn:
To explore models for eliciting a client’s personal history.
To discover, through experiential learning, the power of developing a coherent narrative, and how this can illuminate your client work.
To learn the value of our own story for developing self-awareness and reflexivity as therapists.
The course is open to all student and qualified therapists, counsellors and coaches of any modality. The day will be conducted over Group Zoom, with a maximum of four delegates in order to ensure individual attention.
This course has been given Quality Checked CPD training recognition by the National Hypnotherapy Society (HS) and the National Counselling Society (NCS). This course alone is not a route to the Accredited Register nor does it fully equip a participant to practice as a qualified practitioner or refer to themselves as ‘a specialist’ in the subject matter unless they have other qualifications to support this.
